“If not now, then when?” One of the worst human conditions is to feel as though you have no options and are trapped in circumstances that don’t work for your well-being. It is easy to believe we are trapped when really multitudes of options exist. It is out of the box thinking that sets us free and helps us maintain optimism. Just the mere act of allowing yourself options creates better emotional health. At the end of next year I will be an empty nester. As a divorced, single woman the thought of being alone in my home saddens me. But, ah! Playing with options….I could rent my home out and move to a small seaside apartment in Portugal or go teach a course at the University in New Zealand. I probably won’t do either of these but just giving myself permission to play with options pleases my soul and eases my mind.
